December 7, 2011 Update:
Earthwork and utility installations are ongoing. The main stormwater detention facility has been excavated and the chamber installation has commenced. Site grading and footing excavation is ongoing to accommodate the construction schedule.
Concrete foundation work has started and is progressing well. Concrete pours are happening weekly. Construction on the West half of the building foundations are rolling ahead.
November 23, 2011 Update:
The construction of the new Chilliwack Secondary School is fully underway. Graham Design Builders has installed temporary construction fencing around the perimeter of the construction area. For the safety of the public, construction site access is restricted and access will not be permitted for anyone other than authorized construction personnel.
Phase 1 demolition activities are complete.

Concrete foundation work has started with the first concrete pour scheduled for early next week. Construction on the West half of the building foundations is rolling ahead.
The running track will be kept open during this project.
September 29th Update:
The long awaited start to the Chilliwack Secondary School building project is here. Over the last couple months Graham Construction and the School District Maintenance Staff have been involved with preparing the site for construction.
Abatement and demolition activities began with the music building and Kipp Centre and portables are now on site. As part of the proposal and to enhance the entrance to the new Chilliwack Secondary School, two (2) properties were purchased on Yale Road. The houses that were on those sites have now been demolished. The parking lot off Yale Road has been revamped to accommodate the bus drop off and pick up.
This project will last for over two years and we will do everything we can to keep parents, students and the community informed. Check our website frequently to stay up to date on the progress of the project.

Background:
The Board of Education selected Graham Design-Builders, a JV as the Design-Builder for the Chilliwack Secondary School Replacement Project. On February 28, 2011, the Chilliwack School District hosted a public open house to unveil the plans for the new secondary school. School district representatives and the Design-Build team were available to answers questions about the design and construction of the new secondary school.
For those who were unable to attend we have provided a link to the panels that were on display at the open house. They are large files so they will take a little bit of time to download.
