Indigenous Education Department and ISP Host Welcome International Students

On Monday, September 23, 2025, the Chilliwack School District Indigenous Education Department and International Student Program (ISP) welcomed international students to Chilliwack with a half day of learning at Coqualeetza Cultural Education Centre.

The event introduced international students to local First Nations' culture, teachings, and traditions and emphasized how that knowledge continues to guide and enrich our communities today.

Students experienced a traditional Welcome Ceremony, learned from Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and explored the meaning of Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.

It was a day of connection, respect, and gratitude — and a reminder that reconciliation begins with listening, learning, and walking together in friendship.
