Volunteering

We recognize the valuable assistance that parent and non-parent volunteers provide to our school personnel and programs. Volunteers are utilized for a variety of tasks, depending upon the needs of the teachers and their classes. When a volunteer has a special talent or training, it can often be put to good use in the classroom or within the schools's activities. While welcoming volunteer participation, the Chilliwack Board of Education is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment for all students. Therefore the Board of Education requires anyone serving as a volunteer in district schools or on school sponsored activities to submit to a Police Information Check. Volunteers are subject to the same FIPPA regulations as district staff.

Note: Volunteer drivers must be prepared to submit a drivers abstract or disclose information about their driving record regarding motor vehicle accidents or traffic violations.
