Join us in supporting National AccessAbility Week (May 26 - June 1) and Red Shirt Day of Action for Accessibility and Inclusion (Wednesday, May 29, 2024)! This campaign raises awareness, promotes greater accessibility and inclusion across our communities by removing barriers, and celebrates the contributions and leadership of persons with disabilities in Canada. The SD33 Accessibility Core Working Group would like to invite SD## staff, teachers, students, parents, and community groups to participate in this important initiative. Throughout the week of May 26, we encourage all schools in our District to engage in awareness discussions and activities, explore resources, identify potential barriers, and share feedback through the Let's Talk platform. On May 29, we invite you to demonstrate your support by wearing red shirts, taking selfies with your Red Shirt Day pledges, and sharing your photos on social media with relevant hashtags (i.e. #RedShirtDay, #RedForAccessAbility).
